In 2020, as schools were shut down and everything was happening online, I started a project to encourage kids and parents to come back to the tactile world for a bit and play together with fun and creative activities.
This was the main goal behind Moon Paper Toys Club, and in the course of the project, a series of paper toys collections were designed for families to print and build at home.
The Ice Cream Shop was the first collection launched by the Club. Every collection included a series of toys templates, B&W templates so kids could create their own toys, supplementary assets like posters, coloring pages and other activities as well as fully illustrated tutorials. Video tutorials for each toy could also be viewed on YouTube, in the Moon Paper Toys Club channel.
You can download a free sample by clicking on the downloads button on the right.
Every collection begins with the toys. The Ice Cream Shop collection included 12 different flavors of ice cream and popsicles, as well as cherries and decorated cones.
Additional assets for the Ice Cream Shop collection included a poster, flavor tags for the shop, as well as a shop menu.
The collection also included a series of B&W assets, so kids could color in and create their own flavors of ice cream and popsicles.
The collection is also accompanied by illustrated tutorials for each toy model.
